The Yale Himalaya Initiative brings together faculty, students, and professionals across the University whose work focuses on the Himalayan regions of Nepal, India, Bhutan, Pakistan, and China, as well as the Tibetan cultural areas that traverse the borders of all those states. Our podcast series engages scholars and practitioners of and from the Himalayan region in conversation about key issues i environments, livelihoods and cultures across the Himalaya. In this video, filmmaker and writer Kesang Tseten discusses his film, Who Will Be A Gurkha?, a documentary about Nepali Gurkhas who have been recruited into the British military for decades. Tseten's documentaries have won several awards in film festivals in Nepal and been screened at international film festivals across the world.
