thank you for making, beautiful movies like this one, movies that have a message, that can teach you. it has been some time that i saw a movie like this one. i think this is all i wanted to say, but i can't post my comment until it is 10 lines long, because it is considered a junk text ? because it is short?, i believe that not how long it is, is important, but what it has to say. so i say, that in my case because i have to post at least 10 lines, i have to fill with " junk"? i wish that i could just have wrote the first three lines, because i consider that it is of the most importance, every movie tell us something, it might be that oh well it was a .... movie. but it might be that i should do this, or why am i not doing that. now i understand what should i do. live is beautiful, i wish that everybody could see that.

It's hard to find a Kevin Spacey performance that doesn't deliver and this one is no exception. He's great in it and all the characters are well developed with one exception. I don't want to spoil the movie at all but I think you'll see what I mean as you watch it. It was also very nice to see a movie that was clearly made in Los Angeles, just about every scene was in a neighborhood I recognized. From Los Feliz to the Hollywood hills and Griffith Park to the Bank of America building downtown, every scene was real Los Angeles which is always a treat for us locals. It's got drama and a little humor delivered on perfect pitch all the way through and you'll find it easy to lose yourself in the story.

Interesting film, very well acted, different stories that intersect, it was fun for me to be a drama, in particular the acting improvisations and many other scenes that are almost comedy. Don't expect to laugh, but it's not a depressing drama. It is more than bearable, it is acceptable.

Once again anything that Kevin Spacey touches is usually gold. The narcissist story line runs throughout. It is for you to decide which character cares only for themselves the most but don't worry most will get a blast of humanity. Especially enjoyable is the father son relationship between Henry Carter, Spacey, and his father, Robert Loggia. The dynamic of an old school Psychiatrist, Loggia, to a "Therapist to the Stars", Spacey, is both funny and painful some at the same time. The out reach of Henry to the young Jemma, Keke Palmer, is the true plot line that runs the movie forward. Watching them try to build a relationship is deeply moving at times and even more so into the climax. No big twists but a pleasant ride!

I gave it a 7, just because it's not a big film; it's not an ambitious film; it's not a "perfect" film; it's just a great film. Kevin Spacey is fantastic. The writing is very good, and the direction is, well, different. I kept expecting it to disappoint me, and then it never really did. It's not for everybody. The reason I liked it so much is that I thought all the acting was so very good. I like to see actors give subtle performances, and I thought every single one of them did here. No one was anything less than fantastic. The film was touching, without being overly sentimental. I never felt manipulated by the filmmakers. I just felt like it got reinforced that we all have our flaws, and that we can overcome those flaws. It reminded me that people I might not like very much might have some good qualities, regardless of whether or not I approve of them. And it just made me think there is hope, and I can never give less than seven stars to a film that does that.
