Trying to make perversion a good thing. This movie desguise as a feminist movie is nothing but a masquerade.

Let's not pretend that Marston wasn't a bit of a perv. Here was a man with some interest in bondage who had a wife but who brought into his marriage another woman, presumably to fulfill his pervy fetishes for girl-girl action and the like. Pathetic. There is nothing liberating for women in this arrangement. In fact, the man always comes out on top. The idea that Marston's female partners were "liberated" or even "empowered" is pure Hollywood nonsense of the type you often see in connection with movie promotion. As for the 1930's and 1940's being oppressive times, no they weren't. Privately, you could do pretty much whatever you liked in bed. The only sexuality that was really prosecuted was male homosexuality.

Considering the cost of seeing a movie today - this one would probably be better off viewed if checked out (for free) from the library. Based - loosely - and I mean loosely - on the life and times of psychologist William Moulton Marston - this film attempts to provide some background to the comic book creation of Wonder Woman. Unfortunately, there is a good deal of Marston's life that is left out. Marston was a Harvard-educated "law man" who chose psychology as his career of interest. His writings are almost obsessively focused on lie-detection. Apparently, Marston had a criminal record - and the Detroit police department didn't care much for him. For a lawyer, he didn't seem to have much respect for the law, morals or ethics.

Short and Simple Review by WubsTheFadger The film shows the story of how Wonder Woman became to be. It is a story that should seem mundane, but Angela Robinson makes it exciting and real. The story is full of extremely sexual dialogue, moments, and visuals. The film is a great character study and also has a good amount of humor spattered throughout. The acting is the best part of the film. Rebecca Hall, Luke Evans, and Bella Heathcote all perform phenomenally. Rebecca Hall delivers probably the best performance of her career as a narcissistic woman who is also brilliant. The pacing is mostly good. The runtime is also a little overlong. Pros: Exciting and real story, great character study, some good humor, amazing acting by Rebecca Hall, good overall acting, and a good ending Cons: Some slow pacing and an overlong runtime Overall Rating:.7.3

After watching a trailer I had my doubts about the authenticity of how true this story was. I searched the internet for reviews/articles and found many that cast doubt about how true this "True" story was. After reading a Hollywood Reporter article it became undoubtedly clear this is complete fiction. Because this fictional story casts dispersion on the origin of Wonder Woman, and the authors family refutes all aspects of this movie, it deserve no better than a zero but one star is as low as this rating can go.

Brilliant writing and directing. The acting is to be as praised as well. I do not know how much of the actual truth is presented in the movie, but it was a very smart portrayal of how wonder woman came to be and what she has represented all alone

When Wonder Woman made her live action big screen debut on opening weekend, a teaser for a movie based on the life of the creator and his relationship with his wife and her friends made the rounds causing lots of buzz. The thing is, the movie was better than the teaser. It's very accurate based on the time period and the casting is great. Unlike the wonder woman movie, this one is not for kids. It's rated R for sex and nudity and it shows. Luke Evans plays the lead role as Prof. Marston, who created the lie detector test and is on his way to create a game changing female super hero who would become the most famous of them all: Wonder Woman. I'm surprised that this movie didn't get any Oscar love (same for Wonder Woman 2017). Give this one a rental and see for yourself how wonderful this movie is.

If we start comparing this with our normal lives, it will just blow our minds, it will even make us hate the sinning examples portrayed in the movie. We are the sum of our experiences though, and we all hate to be hated. From this point, i admire the protagonists courage because, we like it or not, we are pure sexual beings. With that in mind, i welcome and give a big thumbs up of approval to this wonderful movie, go and see it, it will change your heart and mind equally. 9* out of 10!

The rules say that I can't a rating of less than 1 so that is what I gave it. I will not review a movie that i have not watched from start to finish. It was difficult to get through this mess, but I did. I am thankful that I did not have to pay a dime to see it. I found the subject matter of this movie to be a bit like soft Porn. I call understand why William Marston's family would have nothing to do with the making of this movie. The person who wrote this story claims that it is based on a true story. Doing some research says that she didn't even know the true story. The fact that they allow this kind of crap in theaters is just how Hollywood operates. Some reviewers gave this a 10 and called it a great movie. Everyone has to watch it and make up their own mind. Good luck with this one.
