**spolier warning** this movie has know story line - but is set in a mall the film is mainly about 2 guys who loose there girlfriends but then try to get back up with them even if it means going on a game show - this film will leave laughting again and again. i would recommend it to anyone? 10/10 - stars to great hollywood actors - SHANNEN DOHERTY AND BEN AFFLECK.

As I've been quoted on this site.... "The fanboys tend to ruin Kevin Smith though... many cannot admit his flaws, even Smith himself will admit to his flaws." ...This was panned by the critics and if you were to weight up everything you should agree. ...Frankly the best thing to come out of this film was (sir) Jason Lee, who was brilliant in executing his role. It was also nice to see a before he was famous Ben Affleck. ...BUT lets be honest..... ...Jason London was absolutely awful! He sounds like he's reading from an autocue! ...Claire Forlani was poor as was Shannen Doherty in executing her lines too. This was no Clerks or Chasing Amy or Dogma but it's still watchable all the same thanks to the great Jason Lee... Maybe if there wasn't so much budget involved this could have been better? Jersey Girl is his biggest budget since (mainly thanks to Affleck's wages) lets hope Kevin Smith makes his $£$£$£$ back for Miramax so he can go onto the Fletch film trouble free!!! 6.5/10

This film and its characters and the dialogue are so unbearably bad I thought I would vomit. I made it through the end because of the trusty forward button on my DVD player. And because it was a free rental. And I guess because I wanted to see how this silly movie ended. Crude language and concept aside- yes there's a spoiler coming up-Jason Lee's character wins his girlfriend, Shannen Doherty back by outing a statutory rape video in which Ben Affleck's character appears- all of the characters are incredibly unsympathetic. They never learn or change. Sure, it's a comedy, so there ought to be a necessary level of one-dimensionalism at play, but how these two men got girlfriends in the first place is beyond me. I'll be quite glad to be one of those people who just don't get it!

This movie is hilarious! Kevin Smith is a great director! I'm not sure about Dogma or Chasing Amy but Clerks, Mallrats, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back are hilariously stupid movies that kept me laughing out loud. This movie is great and clever (take the cookie store in the food court and Superman and Lois Lane conversations for example) Haha what a great movie.

Although I feel Clerks is better, this is a very good continuation of the style Kevin Smith has created. I loved this movie. It again tells the story of some less than impressive individuals and the hilarious events that transpire in their day. Just read the amount of quotes that the IMDb has for these movies, and you get the idea. The dialogue in all of Kevin Smith's movies is the focal point, the plots almost seem irrelevant to me.

I should, shouldn't I? But anyway... Kevin Smith is one of my favorite filmmakers. He can take an idea and write these great characters for it-- and even higher some decent actors. Look at Jason Lee-- this guy can act, and he's funny as hell. The only thing I liked him better in was Chasing Amy, my favorite Smith movie, and one of my favorites overall. I don't need to tell you this movie was good, just see it to believe it. And if you already have, see it again. It's too funny to just watch less than 10 or 12 times.

Jay and Silent Bob were at their best in this film. In Chasing Amy, they were only there for a scene and in Clerks they didn't seem to be a main part of the movie or plot. Whether it was Jay getting the contestants high or Silent Bob trying to use the jedi mind trick or the vulcan neck pinch, they were a very important part of the movie. The truth is that I've seen Clerks twice and couldn't see the point to that movie or much of the comedy that's claimed to be in it. Chasing Amy was too mature and complicated for me. I didn't understand a lot of it and the ending seemed unfulfilling, like something was missing. JRGTREK.

I only started seeing the Askew movies, recently, and I think they all kick ass (just need to see Chasing Amy now). This movie, in my opinion, is one of the funniest and greatest work of art I have ever seen. Jason Lee was amazing as Brodie, and of course Mewes and Smith kicked ass as Jay and Silent Bob. There were some boring characters, but it is still one of the greatest movies of all time. Rent it now. 9.7/10

Kevin Smith is my absolute hero, but after first viewing this flick I was a little disappointed. I'd seen Chasing Amy the week before, and although Mallrats is very cool, it was just too different to make a comparison. However, after reading more about it and reviewing some of the dialogue, I watched it again and laughed my ass off. It's so wacked, but in a really good way. Kevin Smith is the master of the English language. One suggestion though- I'm sure Jeremy London is a great actor in his own right, but he shouldn't have been in this movie. He seemed lost, like he didn't get any of the jokes. Jason Lee was incredible, and deserved someone better to be his sidekick. But all in all, it's well worth the time spent watching it (preferably more than once!)
