Of course this is a parody on Blair and the lies that started the second Iraq war. But don't believe the 'clever' or 'fun' reviews. In the loop doesn't contain two jokes. The so called 'fun' is in people bullying, shouting at and demeaning other people. It is the same kind of fun you get at a bullfight or cockfight. No character is explained. You have to believe that either everybody is very stupid and/or cowardly or an utter bully. Nobody is normal or has morals (maybe there's one exception. If you don't like this review please go * your self. And if you don't like my language, definitely don't watch this movie (or go and watch and you'll see why.

All throughout, "In the Loop" consistently evoked "Dr. Strangelove" for me. It's got that absurdist bent that seems to go well with players in the political realm, and the cast seemed to relish in the unbelievable dialogue so it all goes down velvety smooth. I'm not sure how this flew so under my radar, and I'd only heard of it because of "Veep" (and it's clear how this movie eventually spun off that show). The wit is sharp, the reprimands are nasty and the humor borders delightfully on farcical. Highly recommended for its salty temperament. 7/10

There is nothing about this movie I did not love. The insights into the political process are spot-on and solid gold. Every character is an archetype and an incredibly valid one at that. The performances were totally believable and completing compelling. 10 on a 10 scale.

Sometimes a great script may be enough - then again casting is more than essential. And let's just say that whoever casted this, did an amazing job. Really well chosen people for not so easy roles to play. One can only imagine how this could have gone wrong. Actually one can easily imagine how things can go wrong watching this - just a word or sentence out of context is enough. Having said, this is not for the easily offended or squeamish. While there is no physical violation, there is quite some verbal abuse. Not sure if a woke culture would allow any of it or would even scoff at you if you'd say this is funny. It is not about condoning that behaviour, it is about enjoying a movie. Knowing the difference about what this is and what you're supposed to do in real life (do not try this at home) ... having said, you should be prepared at least a little of things to come your way - and that is quite some fast talking!

Having just spent a wonderful afternoon laughing at Malcolm (and that other Scottish chap, who broke the fax) I am pleased to be able to vote 9/10 for this great (sort of) spin off of "The Thick of It". Briefly, if you like that show, or have an evangelist at work who waxes lyrically about it, you'll love this. Visiting IMDb to find out more about the film, I wondered who on earth could not like it? People who don't understand it? Ah, no. Some Waltons fans don't like the rude words. Do they live in the real world? The rude words part of the experience! It is big and it is clever! Watch the blu-ray, its better than the DVD.

A film spin off from the TV series 'The Thick of It' confusingly has some actors from the TV series playing different roles. Centre stage is Malcolm Tucker, sublimely played by Peter Capaldi who swears, bullies and maims people under him, above him and only gets challenged by James Gandolfini's General. The film satirises the run up to the war in Iraq with the hawks in the USA and UK itching to invade and using the various machinations, subterfuge and fogginess to hide their true intentions. There is a funny but brief appearance from Steve Coogan and for a film full of irony and British satire it is nice to see that the American actors were in on the joke.

Guessing from parts of the dialog, this film maybe could have been funny but unfortunately I'll never know because I quit after some 30 minutes. The reason being that it has been shot and edited like some "24" or "Bourne Identity" action flick. It's pan, zoom, cut indefinitely with the camera constantly swaying around and a cut basically after each single sentence of dialog. This unfortunately is so totally distracting that it's impossible to follow the story or enjoy any joke. Well, at least we now know that - ten years later so to speak, after this technique has been introduced and massively exploited by Hollywood - UK cinema can "do it too". Unfortunately, they picked a wrong genre piece for proof. Which makes this a total failure I'm afraid.

i found this political satire quite funny at times.it's quite zany.it movie at a rapid fire ,manic pace.i'm sure they just gave the actors free reign to add lib for a lot of the scenes.and it works.there is lots of coarse language, but it's not mean spirited.that's the thing.when the Brits use coarse language,it seems funnier.at least that's been my experience in any British movies/TV shows i've seen.there are also Americans in the cast, and they're also funny.anyway,i really thought his film was a riot.if you're feeling a bit down.pop this little gem in your machine,it'll having you in stitches in no time.for me,In the Loop is an 8/10
