Overt propaganda and climate change hysteria and fear-mongering that deliberately misleads and omits important facts. Much more agenda-driven, spin and hyperbole than real documentary and information. Decidedly anti-human and anti-industry without bothering to really weigh the pros and cons.
Some very nice imagery however.

I liked everything about this film! It is honest, real and expressive! This is our reality! Our scary future! I know that the planet is much stronger than us and doesn't even care about us whether we live or die, however we are destroying other animals' lives just because we are egoistic, cruel and stupid. We are the worst thing that ever happened to this planet and its innocent plants and animals. WAKE UP!

Home uses stunning aerial footage to tell the natural history of the planet and show how human civilization are destroying the natural cycle of life that was provided to us by Earth. The focus on carbon's history and the advent of plant life and other bacteria that gave way to human life provides a compelling, full-circle narrative of showing how this delicate balance can be thrown off course if we continue our methods of extraction and energy consumption.
Home as a visually-stunning documentary serves an important role in cleanly communicating the history of the planet, its unique systems, and the ways in which humanity has altered them. While we are on a path of destruction, the documentary hints at solutions. Hint, because it is not comprehensive in paving the way forward. This is truly a love song for the Earth. A film to teach about systems. The solutions are out there and require further investigation.

Guy has made so much money he stashed it into a foundation that helped, among other awful things, elect Qatar for the first air conditioned soccer world cup! He's affiliated with banks and corporations that are known for greenwashing. He today comes to tell us to downsize and reduce our footprint on the planet, shall we remind everyone that he has flown the world on a helicopter all his life ? Who's giving lessons to whom seriously ??

Zero vince sates that HOME is not a documentary because it doesn't document anything.
This is an absurd comment because most of the movie is of real life scenes that are not set up.
The editorial aspect is in the script and to a lesser extent the editing. This is no different than a photojournalist documenting life, then the pictures being laid out in a magazine
Every frame is a document, the the same way a still photographer documents life so can a motion picture camera.

I think that my personal title of this review captures the documentary at its best: "Astonishing". But that is of course a very opinion based way to capture the documentary.
What is not opinion based are the facts shown in the documentary. It shows our earth like many of us have not seen it before. And most of us know that we are depleting our earth in a concerning way, but the facts shown in the documentary still came as a shock to me.
It should be mandatory for every human being on earth to watch this documentary. Especially for the ones that are most responsible for the growing disappearance of our resources.
I personally think it is time for change. And change starts when you are aware of the sad state that our world is in. That is why this is a good documentary. Because it makes you aware of the situation!
