It's pretty well established that Montañez was not the originator of Flamin Hot Cheetos. OK fine, the story is embellished. That's pretty common in Hollywood. Knock a couple stars off for that. But what's inexcusable is the bland story telling and overuse of stereotypes. He grew up poor, became a small time criminal, took a menial job even though he was smarter than everyone else who opposed him at every turn, until getting his only chance ... yada yada yada. Can you develop some interesting characters that are more than two-dimensional please?! The only one that hit hard on an emotional level was Montañez' father played by a wonderful Emilio Rivera (Alvarez from Sons of Anarchy). It's just not as interesting a movie as I thought it'd be. Full disclosure I like regular Cheetos better anyway. What can I say?

I'm not going to even do this the dignity of watching it. The entire story is false. The people who actually developed this product are being robbed of credit. The producers were told by Frito-Lay in 2019 that this story was false, and they barreled ahead anyway. It's ridiculous that this farce still manages to be presented as true. The only thing that this lie serves to inspire in Latin-X children is that one day maybe they too can make outlandish claims to fame that gain urban legend status and even get them made into a major motion picture without any cumbersome barriers like fact-checking or sticking to the truth. In an era where truth and facts are being lost in a sea of lies, misinformation vehicles like this all but ensure that anyone can claim anything and people will buy it. PT Barnum was right.

Look - it's a fun story and a great movie - we really enjoyed it. Now there seems to be a little uncertainty as to exactly who really came up with the Flamin Hot Cheetos - but regardless Richard was definitely involved and his true story of janitor to executive is true and it's fun! It's a very enjoyable and entertaining movie - again, and that's enough for me. Very well made and performed. It's a great fun for the family movie. And that's about it - it hit all the marks for us - definitely worth watching. And now I'm just repeating things to hit 600 characters. You really don't need to use 600 characters to say whether you liked a movie or not.

I have to say I'm biased, as my hubby was an extra in this movie. He is in the scene were the staff is clapping Montaneaz when he became an executive. He is standing behind his two best friends. But regardless of who invented flamn' hot....does it really matter? I Just watched Camelot. How true is that musical to history? Or anything....not...who cares. I am half hispanic/half white and felt that the racial/ethnic situations were truly portrayed. I believe at least 30% of us reviewers have worked under a creepy white mid manager, at least one point in our lives. But what is true about this movie from any standpoint and in the late 20th century is the rag to riches story, the portrayal of poverty so bleak you don't know where the next meal is from, bullying in school and workplace, the deep love of a family, the lack of marketing and representation of any market except white. It's scary that in the 21st century we seem to be back-peddling. A hurrah to Longoria who bring us a fun and inspiring story. Also kudos to the main protagonists. Especially the main protagonist. He will never be considered for an award because his struggles are portrayed as half-glass full attitude and a lot of humor., but he definitely has some acting chops.

Why cant they just tell a story anymore without injecting overt propaganda.... the regan years werent good for anyone? Tell that millions of hard working Americans, many of whom were brown. The classic white man evil brown victim trope is getting verrrrry old... What can you expect from a film supposedly produced by eva longoria, but comon its 2023, this is getting ridiculous. Also I looked into to it and several portions of the movie were fiction and not based on reality, this enitire story was pretty much fantasy passed of as a true story, the name of the film was good though, and the casting and acting was okay too.
