This is probably one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen. What I liked best about this movie is the fact that it withstands the temptation to concentrate on the abduction but instead lays the focus on the reaction of the fellow citizens. Despite its main theme, you can learn a lot about the average human stupidity. I don't believe in aliens visiting earth, but if I ever should manage to stumble over one I'll better keep my mouth shut ;) The flashback scenes are very scary, for that alone the movie deserves a higher ranking. I liked the acting, especially James Garner as the Marshall is top notch. The special effects during the flash back scenes may seem a bit outdated, but all in all this movie is something unique. Watch it with some friends when it's late and dark outside.

We as Americans cannot be nieve to think we are the ONLY ones in the universe.. With that being said, i read Travis Walton's book and it it absolutely scared the living daylights out of me... To go to that much detail about the abduction, i cant describe in words, you must read it... There are ufo sightings every day, by people, astronauts. And alike.. and even more unexplained phenomena and missing people... Lets not forget that EVERYONE has passed lie detector tests, MULTIPLE TIMES... This is a TRUE STORY, whether you want to believe it or not... read the BOOK!!!!

This is a great movie, for many of us it is more than just a story. Especially in this day in age I would suggest most watch it. It is getting better and better for us finally as science is finally catching up to our understandings of this world. For the few of us that there are out there that know what is going on. All the answers are inside and this is why I say it is becoming a more exciting time in this day in age as science finally catches up. As an example (The Muon Wobble, Dark Matter) all these things science is finally learning about, has connected many of us for thousands of years. The only limitations set are the ones we have put before ourselves.

Premiering the same year as the first X-Files episode, and, fittingly, featuring Robert Patrick, Fire in the Sky is an entertaining enough paranormal drama. While not destined for classic status, the entire cast is excellent, and the pacing is fine.
It's interesting to see imagery which could have been lifted right out of an X-Files episode, or which presages X-Files mythology. It seems likely Chris Carter was influenced by this film. Equally interesting, one sequence seems to foreshadow by 6 years the famous sequence in The Matrix in which Neo awakens in the battery chamber.

So this film is based on a true story in snowflake Arizona in 1975
six men saw it . One became a prisoner inside it. Bit who would believe them? In 1975 , a logger Travis Walton and his co workers discovers a hovering UFO. Walton's pals fled as they saw what was happening to their pal after been taking and subjected to painful unearthly medical studies fire in the sky is amazing tale of that ordeal and the contempt and ridicule endured by his pals as the try to explain Walton's mysterious disappearance he was found five days later battered and bruised James Garner plays an investigator who suspects the story as a over for a killing of their friend and Robert Patrick Henry Thomas
Peter Berg and Craig Shaffer characters join Sweeney in the roles of the men bemused by the event that would have thought impossible if hadn't happened to them and encounter with alien life. this 1hr 43mins film is good I gave it 6/10

A must see, if you like the TV Series 'X-Files' and are interested in UFOs. The movie stars D.B. Sweeney, Robert Patrick and James Garner - All doing a great job. Cinematography by the legendary Bill Pope!

If a bunch of guys comes into town claiming that one of his friend got abducted by an alien, what would you do as a sheriff ? You'd suspect that there was a foul play wouldn't you ?
But then if the victim shows up few days later and corroborate the story, then what would you think ? This is such a story, and might be the only solid recorded account of alien abduction. There is no other easy explanation for this story. If it was a prank, all involved went though awful lot for awful lot of years just to have moment of fun.
The movie does a good job of conveying the abduction of Travis Walton, and although not made on a big budget, reenactment of what happened adds weight to the story. Good movie that deals with enduring urban legend of all times.
If you're driving through the mountains and see a strange light, just keep on driving and don't get involved.

I love this movie! I saw this movie when it first came out and I I've seen it a handful of times since then. I just finished it with friends who had never seen it. They all thought it was a great movie and the last 30+ minutes of it are brilliant! If you haven't seen it...you should. It never disappoints.
