This movie is poorly made and moves like a bad made for TV movie. The dialogue is awful and the message is so uplifting it made me want to puke my brains out. Everything ends up as happy as could possibly be and is so far from real life its unbelievable and just plain stupid. Save your money if u want to see this and rent it because with the money you saved from going to the theater, your going to want to buy a gun to shoot yourself after you see this movie. If your a neo con conservative god fearing person this is your kind of movie but if your just a moderate Christian like me or a liberal Christian, you will probably find this movie so far over the top it makes you want to choke on your popcorn and die.

A losing football coach (Alex Kendrick) is beset with problems both at his Christian high school and at home with a wife who hasn't been able to have a child. Through prayer, praise, and the firm belief that nothing is impossible with God, things turn around. Writer/Director/Star Alex Kendrick and the Sherwood Baptist Church have created an outstanding film. Though the cast is made up of non-professional actors, they are uniformly excellent as are the script and photography. The football scenes are full of solid action and the motivational scenes are realistic and touching. Highly recommended.

As a Christian, I love this feel good movie. From the people at Albany Ga of Sherwood Baptist Church. As this was made out of labor of love and not out of money or nothing. The whole entire cast are made up of Christian people doing it out of the love of Christ. As football coach Grant Taylor is facing both professional and personal obstacles in his life. As he finally is at his wit's end and cries out to God. The one and only that can help him out. As a result, the football team starts winning. And he gets a much needed bonus. As he also gets more respect from the team and community as a whole. Really good family film to watch. As there are very few out there! This should be on your must have list!

Although I personally would not show this film to our team, I certainly recommend it as entertainment. It all depends on each person's individual perception. Either "Facing The Giants" is a football movie with a strong religious subplot, or a religious movie with a football subplot. This is not a film for the masses, but a personal viewing choice depending on your beliefs. In fact, this entire movie is about belief, because in football if you don't believe you can win, you won't. The acting is just passable, the plot contrived, and the football sequences only marginally successful, but somehow this actually adds to the charm of the film. I only wish parents would give me a new truck after winning three games. - MERK

I am a Christian, and I did very much enjoy this movie. But I had a big problem with it. It tells a non-Christian that if you become a Christian, you will have all your prayers answered ...and quickly. And we as Christians know that just isn't true. It sets non-Christians who become saved by this film, up for some major disallusionment. They will think that all they have to do is ask God, and all problems will go away. And it just isn't true. God decides when he wants to say yes and when he wants to say no. Our lives as Christians aren't like what is portrayed in this film. Sometimes we pray for years and never get a yes answer. Sometimes we never get a yes answer. And we never get to understand why, not until we get to heaven.

I loved this movie. I would without a doubt go and see it again. It was absolutely one of the best movies I have ever seen. It made me laugh and it made me cry. It gave me encouragement to the negative things that happen in our lives. Football has never been one of my favorite sports, however, this movie was about so much more than football! My son, who is 13, really enjoyed this movie. I think he was amazed to see that you can actually go to a movie that doesn't have bad language or disgusting or crude remarks and it be a great movie. My Mother, who is 83, really liked this movie as well and was pleased to be able to watch something without bad language or distasteful scenes. I, personally, will encourage as many friends and relatives to see this movie.

Never in my life have I seen such a pathetic attempt at spreading Christianity through a movie. Basically it tells us that if you turn Christian then god will give you everything you ever wanted. I'm sure we all agree thats not true. I mean one scene the Christian coach is talking to an unbelieving player and the player tells him he doesn't believe in god. The next scene he's converted? He seemed so against religion. The wife gets a negative pregnancy result and when she tells god she loves him, another paper mysteriously appears saying she IS pregnant. No explanation. Just another paper. The movie basically involves a lot of terribly acted crying scenes with the coach crying every time a good or bad thing happens. Horrible movie, I'd give it a -10/10 if I could.
