First off, what other movie has a killer alien from space that shoots green rays from its eyes and tries to have sex with the babes, and runs from shaving cream, amazing! But in my opinion what really makes this movie so freaking awesome is Craig Peck who plays mike, a horror movie fan, who just is truly amazing and knows what to do in each step. The girls are hot, the guys are cool, the alien is sick, and the camera work and music are just perfect. But here is my question, Why isn't Craig Peck in more movies?

I saw this movie one late night on cinemax, and had to own it. It took me over a year to find it for sale. That's how much I love it. The acting isn't that good, except for PECK, but don't let that stop you. Peck's character tells you the signs and rules of horror movies, way before SCREAM. Couple of classic scenes i.e. cat falling from ceiling, actor swinging on a boom mike, and the classic line "The only thing we know about it is it, like everyone else hates a mouth full of shaving cream!" As horror movie I give it -2 stars, as horror spoof +10.

Without knowing the year of production, apparently 1991 or 92, a horror film fan would think this unique and fun fright film would have been from a decade earlier. Stylistically, it's very much like the Evil Dead series, or at least the first two of that series, and also has much of the same black humor and quick pacing. Of course, the whole low-budget atmosphere contributes to that effect, as well as the talents of the unknown cast. Basic story has an alien creature, rather smallish but carnivorous, running amok in the forest near a cabin of 7 teens. One of the teens is a horror film buff and constantly reminds the others of standard horror film situations they are placed in. Doesn't that sound familiar? However this film came before Scream! Well worth a viewing.

Silly no-budget horror film. Seven college students go a remote cabin in the woods for a weekend. There are three couples and one loner who's a horror movie addict. He soon realizes there's something in the woods with them and keeps warning everyone. They ignore him until it's too late. They're attacked by an alien that seeks to kill the men and mate with the women. Made on a small budget with a cast of unknowns (who remained unknown). The basic idea is not bad and it has an OK script but the atrocious acting and lousy special effects make this a chore to watch. Also ALL the characters are annoying and you never really get a good look at the alien. Skip it.

Scream talked about the rules if you are going to survive a horror movie. Well there's nothing out there is the pretext to that and have other rules of surviving a horror movie in the woods which includes no skinny dipping. I love the Mike character, reminds me allot of me. He is the best written character in this whole movie. The others are good too but he has to be my favorite. The brilliant writing and subtext. The acting is better then some serious horror movies and the effects are incredible. This has got to be the best movie that you never heard of. All and all a great movie worth watching over and over again. 9 STARS.

Very entertaining movie about seven youngsters (20 somethings cast as high school students) who go on a camping trip to summer house owned by the parents of one of the seven. The main character, Mike, freaks out when he sees a smashed overturned car. He insists that this is the beginning of a weekend of horror. He's right. The usual murder-the-teens plot unfolds, but TNOT keeps it surprisingly well done. The creature and its powers are farfetched, but they work in this film. Even if you don't like anything about this film, Mike's lines will make it worth your time. They're hilarious! 8/10

One of 'Screams' fore-fathers in that it provides a character who has seen tons of horror movies and knows what to expect next! The plot is familiar - students who head out to the woods for a weekend of sex and alcohol are then terrorized by an alien. Yet, the writers definitely did this one up tongue in cheek style. Watch for the classic boom-mic scene. Skeeter gives it 9 for 10!
