Left me speechless afterwards. This is one of those times where reality is crazier than fiction. I don't wanna spoil anything, but if you wanna see a spy, in action with hidden cameras infiltrating one of the most closed of countries in the world, then this is for you.

Fascinating and chilling. Best documentary I have seen in a long time.

Mads Brügger has a nag for getting us, as viewers, feeling immersed in his documentaries. You literally sit at the edge of your seat. His "victims" in them, often seem clown-like and involuntary comedians as Mads Brügger slowly but steadily spins his web around a sometimes pre-defined narrative. In the case of "The Mole", Mads Brügger and his two enormously brave, key accomplices, did not have a story from the outset, but instead saw the narrative develop over the span of an incredible 10 years! What patience from Mads Brügger! What courage from Ulrich Larsen, a young pensioner that did something very few of us will ever get to do; Create a historic legacy. His wife will surely forgive him (see the end)! And what incredible forgiveness for all past sins we feel from watching Mr. James (an ex-French Foreign Legionary and convicted cocain-dealer to the rich and famous). He's a damn, perfect fit for the role as Mr. James! As of a few days after release, already the UN have asked all three to bear witness before UN Security Council. What higher achievement could you ask for?

They pulled the greatest prank ever to surface the earth. The victim? Alejandro. I genuinely laughed my *** off, when he tells the mole about Mads Brügger and how he can tell sarcasm and when something is off.

The film was not very credible or plausible right from the start . Are we seriously to believe that suddenly one day an out of work Danish chef with health problems suddenly decided to infiltrate the Korean Friendship Association ? This is either made up or something has been left out of the story . I think there in an elephant in the room with this film which is the involvement of Western intelligence services in the film . Curiously some believe that former MI5 agent Ms Annie Machon , who seems to have done very well for herself , still works for MI5 . Also stretches credulity that Larsen a man apparently too ill to work could travel around the globe . The film quality in parts of the film is very poor . Some of the conversations look like they have been spliced together . Why would the DPRK which has close relations with Syria going back decades need to enlist the help of the Korean Friendship Association and a dodgy Danish businessman to sell arms to Syria .? No one has questioned the legality and morality of deliberately infiltrating a legal friendship and cultural body such as the KFA and illegally filming its members as well as spying on diplomatic missions of a sovereign state . This film is nothing but a propagandaist hitjob . I would not recommend it to anyone

I am somehow confused, I don't know how to quantify the logic, for this "documentary". It is to stu... lower IQ to be an amateur hour flick, if is a propaganda production, well it just fail to do it job, and looks like crash attempt at comedy. But, if this is for real, my opinion of MI (number here) and/or PET is in a free down fall. Conclusion: I should have spend my time watching a Benny Hill show.

Extraordinary and very powerful documentary about North Korea and the corrupted world of international sanctions. The mole but also the incredible 'Mr James' are both very likeable, fearless and courageous. Hat off for these two guys.
