The story is bad. The characters are bad. The acting is bad. Worse than a train wreck that you can't look away from. DO NOT waste your time on this movie unless you truly enjoy psychological torturing yourself. JWG's character is beyond annoying, and the kid's mama? Who can stop looking at those weird lips???? It's humorous that the actors at least tried to be serious. If you're tempted, throw your remote. Stay away. Far, far away. At least Baby Oopsie knew it was ridiculous and tried to be funny. This movie doesn't even qualify for a bad movie really...it's worse than that. Awful. Truly, truly awful.

I did enjoy this film. Even though it was based on a true story the plot was mostly fictional. I am quite a hard to please film watcher because I am not a huge movie fan. I also have the attention span of a goldfish. But this one held my attention because it was very good and the characters believable. My only criticism is the final scene, because when the dad goes to rescue his son his wife apparently doesn't call the police despite knowing he's been kidnapped by a serial killer! If they had just added in police cars and sirens at the end it would have made a huge difference. The guy who played the teenaged Bobby and the actor who played Gacy were very convincing and so was the guy who played Bobby's dad. The actor who played the mum was good, but I couldn't get past the inflated lips. Nobody did that in the eighties and I am quite a stickler for that. All in all positive for me.

Disappoints with a disjointed plot and lackluster acting. While Mike Korich shines, unfortunately, it's not enough to salvage the sinking ship. The film's poor execution, including laughable special effects like stabbing someone while he is wearing a white T-shirt without a drop of blood, falls flat. Instead of delving deep into the psyche of John Wayne Gacy and exploring the intricacies of his heinous crimes, the film opts for a superficial and shallow approach that leaves much to be desired. Scenes transition clumsily from one to the next, leaving viewers struggling to make sense of the narrative thread, if there even is one. With amateurish cinematography and forced emotions, it fails to engage true crime fans. A generous two stars for Korich's effort, but save yourself the time and disappointment and look elsewhere for your true crime fix and a compelling portrayal of John Wayne Gacy story.

I think that being tortured by Gacy himself would have been less traumatic than watching this. The acting was absolutely diabolical & the characters they played were infuriating. What did poor Bobby do to deserve such dim witted parents? As for the storyline, none of it made any sense. One minute dim dad is gonna blow Gacy's brains out (rather than bother the police) then all of a sudden, because Gacy appreciated his nice bottle of red, all was forgiven haha. Then there was the police officer kindly letting dim dad know that there was indeed a murderous lunatic in the neighbourhood and advising him to stay in until dawn instead of, you know, actually getting off his lazy butt to go arrest the guy. Then there was Bobby & Gacy deaf to dim dad bellowing his son's name over and over, yet dim dad could hear the soft music coming from the room they were in. It's not even like dim dad had good hearing-he didn't hear a thing when his kid is getting dragged out of the bathroom right next door to his bedroom! What kind of parents would go to bed leaving their poor kid unaccompanied in those circumstances anyway? I actually really hated dim dad and wanted to give his stepford wife a bloody good shake too. It should have been those two wearing the clown outfits I swear! Lastly (I mean I could go on & on but don't wanna bore yous anymore) food delivery in the seventies? Really?

The 10s and 9s are obviously submitted by the people associated with this debacle. Do not give this "movie" any of your time. You will hate yourself afterwards. Whose idea was it to cast a Meatloaf look alike with out the talent to play Gacy. The acting is reminiscent of a 6th grade play. I often wonder how projects like this get funded. The world would be much better off if the money to make the film was donated to a worthy cause. The "actors" do not need to be encouraged. They will all be much better off with careers in other fields. I blame this movie on the everyone gets a trophy generation. Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should.

The movie has a real 70's feel! From the clothes to the cars to the houses even the mannerisms of the actors... definitely takes you back to that era! I like how the movie is told from a completely different perspective of the life around a serial killer instead of just all about him. The actors facial expressions were 100% on point! This movie nailed the creepy clown vibe. The directors/producers achieved and really captured the true cringe worthy weirdo-ness clowns give off! And that song!! It was absolutely perfect!! The song really continued to resonate the whole eery feeling throughout the whole movie.
