It started of pretty sound, two spoiled brats who use expressions like "OMG" and "BFF" get kidnapped. However, unfortunately for the kidnappers, one of the girls Father is a super paranoid FBI agent and he demands that she reply to her texts with a different word every day ie Apple the first day then something beginning with B the next day. The kidnappers make the mistake of replying to the text on the second day with "Apple", one thing leads to another and the girls escape then the movie goes right downhill from there, full of silliness and plot holes like how did the girls get money to buy all that hardware to perform their rape revenge after they had escaped? How did they fail to notice their Fathers car parked in the farm after they killed the first guy?

Two young ladies sign up to work at an organic farm in New York for a month with the plan to do some shopping while there. Once they arrive two guys pickup them up where they are then drugged and taken to shipping containers placed in the woods one red and one blue. Each container has a bed and a lamp. The reason they are there is revealed when customers start showing up. The girls eventually get away with revenge on their mind. Now the film starts. The film zips along at a good speed with some elements from Thriller (1974) and a few others but the film is not bad. These chicks kick ass. At one point they are singing a song together as they drive a truck to the next revenge kill. Some parts are violent but the director is not going for gross outs. Worth a watch.

This movie follows the revenge formula but without the shock, without the transition from inocent victim to furious predator, without the gore. It starts with an useless intro that has nothing to do with the movie. The main characters are unlickable. The dialogues are stupid. The acting so-so towards bad. I don't like prolongued torture/rape scenes, but in this genre you need some shock to sympathise with the victim, to root for their decision to be bruthal with jer abusers. Here everything is off camera. Same with the kills towards the abusers. Everything of camera. And the worst is that when they escape they go from crying victims to cheerful joyful revengers cracking jokes with whichother. Where's the furious rage? The payoff? And the uncle plays a useless TAKEN role of paranoid fbi agent that notices they may be in danger and ends up tied to a chair with a thin cord. And in one scene they drive besides other cars draging the towns priest chained to the car. And no one notices. Honestly, don't waste your time with this movie.

What sort of a world are we living in when the best thing men of a certain type can think of doing with young, attractive blondes is to rape them repeatedly then murder them? Thankfully the rapes are only implied, and they don't get around to the murders because the damsels escape. Those of a certain vintage will see the parallels with the 1978 film "I Spit On Your Grave", which was very controversial at the time. Forty years on, films of that genre have long since ceased to shock. Here we have two damsels exacting a bloody revenge on their abusers and would-be killers, and they don't do it by halves. The soundtrack isn't bad, and the cameos are quite good, especially the one with the twin elderly clerks: "My next ride is your Mom", indeed. This began as a thriller, turned into horror, then turned again, to black comedy. And they all lived happily ever after. Those who didn't die an excruciatingly painful death, one in the fashion of Edward II.

While a bit slow for the set up, the film builds momentum and delivers on the promise! It's a revenge * movie, you know the trope, but it works. The two leads have a erotic chemistry and work well together and the film plays as an unquestionable thriller drama with only a smattering of camp, which hits it at a comedic level without taking you out of the moment of the thriller. The other cast members are solid for their roles in a way we've come to expect. My only issue was with the uncle cop. why not weak, I just would have cast someone a little different. I think he comes out just mildly earnest. It's a smarter film that will surely not disappoint and well worth the distraction with strong female characters and a scenario that would make the writers of Deliverance blush. Worth watching for all, not just genre fans.
