Another hilariously fun movie from the great decade of the 1980's. For as silly as this movie is at times, I laughed harder and more often than I do watching the vast majority of contemporary comedies. The clothes in this movie alone are a riot. The story, script and effects are ridiculous but its a thoroughly entertaining film from start to finish. Scatman Crothers has a couple of scenes that were so funny it brought tears to my eyes.

Some movies are just plain awful, and ZAPPED! has awful written all over it. Scott Baio stars as a high school kid who gains telekinetic powers after experiencing a scientific mishap. The movie is a trial to sit through and does not contain a single laugh. It is even worse than MODERN PROBLEMS and that movie was bad enough. I was never really a Scott Baio fan, although he did have a good role on TV's "Happy Days," but ZAPPED! is quite easily the worst teen movie I have ever seen in my whole life. 0 out of 5

Scott Baio was hot in "Happy Days" playing Chachi, but when he played Barney in "Zapped", Chachi doesn't stand a chance against him. Being endowed with telekinetic powers, he was unstoppable. Just disrobing every girl in school was completely hilarious. I liked it when he made the popular girl flash, the boyfriend asked her "What are you, some kind of pervert?" And when he made two girls lose their shirts and the guys their shorts, that was a howl as well. The prom scene will the one Barney will never forget. The boyfriend was a complete wimp when she lost her dress and fainted when he saw her bottom. And all the other girls lost their dresses as well when Barney's power goes way out of hand. This movie was good, but it could use a little more work. I liked it a lot, I don't care what the critics say about it. 5 out of 10 2 out of 5 stars.

Loved it when I was a kid and still love it. This is an actual, practical point of view of what a high schooler would do with any kind of super power. Screw that Spiderman fight crime nonsense. There would be nothing but mischief and pranks. Beautifully done.

If people say this movie sucks, never listen to them again. It's not great, but if you like 80s movies, it is.

Plot; A high school genius gains telekinetic powers after a lab accident. Looks and feels a lot like an updated (for the 80s) Disney's The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes... except with gratuitous nudity, strong language and drug use. By 80s R-rated teen comedy standards, however, those elements are rather tame and sparse. Zapped! is a childhood favorite, and I'm predisposed to love the genre because its films are what my Dad and I bonded over (with some Dads it's baseball, with mine it was Porky's), but nostalgia aside, I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting this breezy, good natured romp. Here's to you, Dad.
