Inside every bloated documentary, there is a succinct documentary trying to get out.
Perhaps if you're massively interested in the works of Steina and Woody Vasulka, you can tolerate all the stuff about archiving to hard drive. But if you're a casual observer, perhaps attracted by the Arena imprimatur, you may find this much more filler than thriller -- or too much noise to signal, if you prefer.
I did persevere with this for the full 86 and a half minutes, but I ended up not really understanding why the works and/or methods of Steina and Woody Vasulka were truly significant.
Be kind rewind. And possibly also fast forward?
