Its not your gore or slasher horror movie, just a suspenseful poltergeist story that was really enjoyable to watch.

After some time I was able to watch a horror movie until the end without being bored. What I love about this movie is a beautiful picture. Great camera even in the dark and lovely cornflower landscape during the day reminds us that this is a movie in term of art. Good acting and directing send this movie to the big screen, no doubt. What I didn't like about this movie is pretty uniformed plot. We know what is going on in the house from the beginning but it does not culminate or change much during the time. Also, if you ask me, the movie needs side plot development to get more tense, like using the capacity of the town near the farm to exploit and involve more characters and more side actions. All in all, this is at least a watchable movie.

In the beginning of the movie, what starts out as what SEEMS to be the opening to a plot, begins to unravel. However, it is a plot that never is clearly explained, and leaves the audience confused. It is obvious that a few scary parts, however, there is no main topic, or concern, or one that is clearly explained. I saw with a load of kids in the theater, and they seemed to enjoy it because of the suspense at points, and constant little "jumpy" parts, that showed up here or there. The whole scary "idea" is never explained, although pictures occasionally flash up showing flashbacks. Overall, i would say, you will NOT get your money's worth if you wanted a good horror film. But if you are into thrillers, or "jump out of your seat and scream" type movies, go right ahead.

I've seen my share of horror movies, both good and bad. But this one could not possibly have been more derivative and by-the-numbers. In the first THREE SECONDS of the movie, it was completely obvious that the terrible, evil thing that was killing the flashback family was the father. Did the screenwriter somehow think no one had ever seen "The Grudge"? When they introduced John, I assumed he would be a red herring character, because it would be FAR too easy for him to be the family-murdering father. How sad when the only way a film surprises me is by doing things I assumed were too unsurprising to do. Frankly, I'm insulted that this movie thought I wouldn't see these "plot twists" coming.
