A better Fyre documentary but that doesn't make it "good." Bit repetitive and overanalysis of a failed music festival. Expect lots of rationalization of a guilty man trying to make himself sound innocent. 2.5/5. Waste of time.

I found this story interesting until they had to throw Trump in there as a con artist. I'm done with any new garbage spewed out from Hollyweird. I just stick to the oldies but goodies now. Tv and movies are sickening now.

Since the two Fyre Festival investigative documentaries came out within days of each other I'm briefly reviewing both here. Fyre (Netflix) was a decent enough documentary of grand-fraudster Billy McFarland. It presented a fairly chronological accounting of events, ending with the legal consequences of the fraud. Fyre Fraud (Hulu) was less chrono, at least to begin with, and spent much more time describing Billy's childhood, college days, and the genesis of his fraudulent ways. In fact, I found Fyre Fraud to be more informative and entertaining. Fyre (Netflix) showed more of their social marketing photos and videos, but that wasn't as satisfying. Fyre Fraud also did a better job of describing the fraudsters' legal consequences, too, so my recommendation goes to Fyre Fraud (Hulu) if you only want to watch one of them.

This is a great documentary! Very interesting and will keep you compelled. Check it out! I actually heard Billy McFarland is selling tickets to it, $1500!

I cannot handle documentaries like this that use so much B roll and unrelated clips. Well, related only in the sense of a key word. It's that "stylized montage" from Reality Bites that I can never get out if my head. The one with the pizza spinning around like a record player. That's my definition of irony. The actual documentary looks like the awful, fake documentary in a fictional movie. Ugh

I think the same people who were behind the event made the documentary. What's with the cheesy computer generated narrator? The music choices--cheese. Shoddy research, shoddy visuals, shoddy interviews--just like the cheese sandwiches given to the gullible millennials who gave the jerk money. And what is the 3 second clip of Trump towards the end got to do with anything?

Netflix and Hulu both released documentaries about the abortive Fyre Festival. I STRONGLY recommend you watch "Fyre" instead, as it really is all about the festival and why it failed...whereas "Fyre Fraud"...well, I really couldn't tell exactly what it was trying to say. The Fyre Festival was supposed to be a huge and exclusive musical extravaganza for the rich and internet influencers. However, instead of providing an expensive but amazing event, audience members were essentially abandoned on a tiny island with almost no food, water or accommodations....and no music! Ultimately, the man behind this massive fraud was jailed....and many folks got nothing for their money...with tickets sometimes selling for many thousands of dollars for nothing. I decided to watch "Fyre Fraud" because I wanted to find out more about the infamous Fyre Festival and why it was such an abysmal failure. Sadly, however, the focus seldom is on the festival and the film itself is incredibly annoying a badly made. Too often instead of addressing the subject matter, the film instead tossed in TV clips that have NOTHING to do with the festival nor the huckster who organized it. To make it worse, there are more edits per minute than any documentary I can recall...making it a film that leaves you exhausted and frustrated...and confused. The other huge problem I have with this film is that they paid the criminal behind the festival and gave him a platform AND cash to tell his side. Considering he perpetrated a massive scam and was convicted for this, allowing him this platform just seemed wrong. And the defrauded influencers and rich young people...well, they were hardly mentioned at all nor were allowed to tell their stories. Overall, a shallow and horribly written and produced film....sort of like the Fyre Festival of documentaries!

This is an extremely misleading film. Almost 90% of it shows that crook being portrayed as a human while robotized voices are talking when people talk against him. At this point I question the neutrality of the makers. If you want a better a documentary on this watch the other one from netflix.
