"When I was on the set of Lone Survivor I was inspired in a moment I shared with Marcus Luttrell. It was the day we were re-enacting when his brothers and sisters got killed in the rescue helicopter. Now granted my role is small in the movie, but the weight I could see in his gaze and on his soul was so powerful, I felt the calling to create a story that shows the sacrifices each of our service women and men, and their families go through. And that nobody wins in war, and that the triumphs even come with consequences. My movie is a a tribute to All of you and those that support you." Jerry G. Angelo

Many negative reviewers here admit to NOT watching the entire film; in some cases admitting to watching only the first 15 or 30 minutes. What a disservice! And who would listen to such shallow critiques of this film? Actually, many great movies use the entire first half of a film to "set the stage." Unfortunately, most of these negative reviews swirl around this movie being a smaller-budget film... but if that is their stumbling block and prerequisite standard, they're missing the most important factor: STORY, STORY, STORY. And, this movie is NOT "typical"- it has 4 main kid roles in it, and an entire PTSD "nightmare" co-storyline woven throughout. In fact, the clarity provided in the 2nd half of this film (and the ending of the movie) put the ENTIRE movie in perspective. Sounds like some of these negative reviewers were simply unable to focus long enough to appreciate this film's great story! I'll bet they NEVER realized what the filmmakers were up to... they probably never realized that 2 of the first 4 big scenes are PTSD "nightmares"... they probably never knew who the "blonde haired girl" was... or that she died (twice!). These shallow negative reviews MISSED the entire "STORY" of this film... ignore them! This film is terrific if you pay attention and use your brain, rather than pre-judge it as just another soldier movie. This film tells a BIG MESSAGE in a profoundly, emotional BIG WAY... but you have to be up to the challenge... and actually watch it!

Actor, producer, writer and director Jerry G. Angelo wore all these hats, as one would in a high school drama class to create a project that's been done many times before, and thus also over-cliched. The directing is the only fairly decent quality of this film, and even that felt amateurish. The acting is sub-par, even for c-list actors, probably from the lack of directing the cast effectively. None of the cast were convincing, and they all seemed to struggle in the acting department. The screenplay was all over the place and the slow dragged-out pacing made the 105 mins feel like 3 hours. The sound was way off and distant, no boom mics? The score was too evident and annoying. A huge pass on this one, and ignore all the fake reviews. It's a very generous 3/10 from me

PTSD is a buzzword nowadays and because of this it has become a go to for dramatic films about the military. This is normally painted with a rough brush and we move on in the story using the PTSD as a plot device. It's frustrating and badly handled in most films. In Warfighter it is crafted and fully realized using excellent storytelling, acting and production value. This is not a story about PTSD, it is a story about how much our troops sacrifice and what that sacrifice does to them on the battlefield and at home. It's a wonderfully told story that takes you into these peoples lives and lets you see the fallout, triumphs and downfalls. Not judging, just showing. I'm excited to see the next film this director and team do. Beautifully shot, strongly told and leaves you with a better understanding and empathy of a subject that is far too often glossed over.

Normally we cheer our heroes on for their outer deeds and personal courage as they gain momentum over their inner & outer struggles, putting back the pieces previously taken from their psyche. In Jerry G. Angelo's film,Warfighter, whilst full of incredible action and suspense, we are transfixed with the wheels coming off in our hero's inner world as & when he (and his family) experience it. A realistic and masterful view of the battle fatigued mind that cannot rest, that must go on, that is duty & brother bound, a specialist that cannot be replaced, as duty is always pressing and it requires all of him. My hope is this film will help us to continue to identify better the signs of PTSD in our brave brother and sister Warfighters to understand them as whole humans, not just fighting machines. This film lays out signs on a path, we, as a society, need to follow to help heal & possibly prevent our heavily traumatized veterans.

One of the best war films I've ever seen and one that treats PTSD with respect and dignity. The action and actors are fantastic, and if this was a low budget film, it sure doesn't look it. Not sure how anyone can give this film a bad review... unless of course, they didn't even really watch the whole movie. Who ever made this should be proud.

I am making sure not to contain spoilers in this review. I thoroughly enjoyed this. I am laughing at other reviews about the acting. I found the relationship between the wife and daughter and the main actor Jerry, extremely convincing. It was natural. What more can you ask for? It felt like a real husband and wife and with the premise of the story, there is one scene in particular that is too convincing, so much that I would never want and cannot imagine how awful PTSD is. I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters and actors and was delightfully entertained by this film. Many scenes I could describe however it would give away plot and scenes but watching from start to finish will take you on a splendid journey.
