This movie tries to show, via metaphor of a bad, a very, very bad hallucinogenic experience, what it feels like to be a normal, rational human being living through the Trump Era. Trust me. It does tick all the boxes.

And Burn a little brighter now, i think will be most sought after question by every sober and analytical soul in the audience.
because its a big bender of mesmerizing mind juggling screwdriver of a afterparty experience ive seen in a long time. its a kinda timewarper, with loads of incosistencies, a lot of fun situations(that couldve been made even funnier), but its a mindblowing psychedelic black noir drama comedy, with extreme use of light and sound,a musical score that make your string of bass go hi wire, visual effects that only the best can achieve, and the acting, especially justin longs great act really rides this movie into a classic gem for generations to come
but i still havent found the answer to this maze of brain coocking filmaking, so i recommend a second look to you all. its weird for a grumpy old man, but its good

I really enjoyed this movie. The acting and production was pretty good. And the story line kept you involved throughout. I started getting a little confused near the end, but the last few scenes cleared it up and the very last part of the movie was great. Karma IAB

Starring Justin Long "The Wave" is a part thriller, part comedy, part drama, part action film about a nerdy Insurance claims lawyer called Frank Winters who goes through a drug induced surreal experience when he spontaneously decides to celebrate a big case success with his friend from work. They meet two girls, go to a house party and things obviously go horribly wrong. The next morning he wakes up and everyone from the party is gone, he goes to work and is hallucinating and soon he is being chased by drug dealers wanting their drugs back. And to make things worse his wife suspects he is cheating on her and he has lost his wallet.
The Wave is a decent movie although it doesn't know what it wants to be. Is it a comedy about a middle aged guy who feels like his life is stagnating, or a thriller? Or maybe it's a drama with a message that drugs and insurance companies are bad. At times the pseudo intellectual chatter and the hallucinations get to be a bit much and the ending may disappoint as it doesn't seem to fit the film. The acting is decent and the movie is just over 1 hour and 20 minutes long and it doesn't drag too much so its it's watchable. 5.5-6/10

I keep saying white liberals need to STOP doing drugs and maybe they'll focus on why they're working 2-3 jobs or have 5 roommates to afford rent in a 1 bedroom unit. And why taxes and rent keep rising in democrat states, but nope! They keep numbing their minds with drugs. This movie had ONE attractive female in it. This movie was trash. I was trying not to fall asleep. Justin long is annoying to watch. This movie had potential but wow, did i need to do drugs to watch this?!

This is good intellectual fun trip of a movie. Anyone who has felt the effects of time while tripping on a hallucinogenic will understand, in a small way, what Justin Longs character goes through. The concept of time feels tactile. It's a abstract concept but it makes more sense to those who have experience it. It's fun but time and space jump around a bit so you have to pay attention. If you enjoy something like " I Heart Huckabee's" then you will probably enjoy this film. Mr. Long does a great job as the lead. His character is believable and in the end, very likable. I enjoyed the ride from this creative concept. Trippy. :)

Pretty entertaining although weird. Think of Alice In Wonderland crossed with The Hangover and you've got it. I enjoyed it and there's actually a moral in there for good measure.
Good acting and effects and it bounces along. If you want to relax with some popcorn and a few tinnies this is the film for you.

This is a narcotic version of "hangover".
Truly a great screenplay - the visuals in the movie are awesome and so is the soundtrack. It's on limited release but I'm sure this movie will absolutely accelerate once people Get to hear about it. Truly a great story and very dark !
Very sad

I first thought I was gonna watch some interesting deep philosophical movie about existentialism, life goals, objectives, meanings... a guy who challenge all his rooted believes after taking some obscure psychedelic drug.
But it was nothing like that, it was a dull boring pathetic mess of a movie (maybe tries to be a comedy?) it seems it was written by a 12yo kid. Avoid!
