Another one typical Reel One Entertainment TV romance/comedy movie which is below average as there are so many little things which drag it down. That's sad because cast was pretty good. C. Rosato was good except in the Act I as she sounded like she talked from the barrel. I don't know how to explain in English as in my language we have proverb about it. And to be clear, it's not her fault, it's bad audio production. V. Zinck Jr. Is a fine TV actor, but he had forced smile too much, and I blame director as in his other movies which I watched he was fine. Movie failed in the utilization of supporting cast, and that's my main gripe. A. Ross was barely in the movie, and yet she always had refreshing impression. The biggest fail is S. Giles. IMO she was the best in the movie by far, and yet until mid she was barely in. She was finally more on the screen later but it's a shame for the first half of the movie. It's obvious that she was afterthought as in the middle of the movie she was in the school uniform once she came back home, then she changed into dress, and again changed back in school uniform, and it was late evening! Filming location is totally different from the movie one. And the beginning of the movie (fashion show) is so obviously fake with a close camera angle. Also, Lisa's famous wardrobe design is something I can buy here in the local clothing chains. I mean, vintage long skirts and similar are nothing revolutionary. OST is good, one of the better for ROE, but it's ROE TV movie, so there is a lot of obnoxiously loud background music which destroys so many scenes. And in the typical bad ROE tradition, trailer compress whole movie in 2:42 min so don't watch it if you plan to watch movie as is full of spoilers.

I recently watched another movie about fashion on the same channel and panned it. This movie confirms my thoughts on that one by comparison. The characters in this movie are natural. The dialogue is fun. There's chemistry not just between the leads, but between the daughter and each of the leads. I especially liked the chemistry between Victor Zinck Jr. And Sarah Giles as father and daughter, not by comparison with the leads but because of this relationship's own dynamics. Zinck and Cristina Rosato had good romantic chemistry. I liked how the memoir device helped establish that chemistry naturally. And Rosato is just enjoyable to watch in her role. The story doesn't fit squarely with the usual premise where the lead has a failing business and the other lead has to help her save it. There are very similar elements, but Lisa is successful, and her struggle is due to the usual vicissitudes of a very competitive industry. The story has about the right amount of tension without being repetitive. There weren't any great highs or lows or surprises, so I give a thumbs up but wouldn't go so far as outstanding. I thought that Colin came off a little juvenile in what amounted to a quiet temper tantrum or maybe sulk is a better word.
