About as enjoyable as watching someone play scrabble. Very slow and uninteresting. Bill Nighy plays the same deadpan, slightly oddball character that he plays so often. Looked like something that had been produced in the1970's in Eastern Europe. Suffered through hoping it would get better. It didn't.

A film that should've been so much better than it is. Bill Nighy can do this sort of role in his sleep. Even the DVD extras are dull.

The flow of the film felt more like a play than a film . It did have a certain amount of charm though . I thought all the actors did a good job .

Wonderful subject matter with a substandard execution. This family comedy-drama is rife with full-bodied characters and quirky moments delivered with a rich but dry humor. While I enjoyed the mise-en-scène very much, the cinematography was slightly less than adequate and although Bill Night's performance was spot-on his costars were a notch above mediocre. It hit some lulls at parts, but the narrative ultimately powered through and came to a satisfying finish.

Bill Nighy's son walks out after a scrabble game never to be seen again. Now the younger son shows his love for his dad. They play scrabble in the woods. They sing and sit around a fire in the beach. The family heals over the words on a scrabble board.

Rather nice film with the great Bill Night. Some funny parts and pleasant to watch. Story is a little strange and I didn't really understand the ending.

A heavy story told in the ever-so light and most subtly comedic way. The actors are nearly all, the best I've ever seen them. The cinematography, lighting and editing are also terrific.
