Robot jox is a great little film ok some of the sets are bad and the acting is not that great but the special effects are very good for a film of this size and age. You have to remember that this film is over 10 years old now and was made very cheaply in the 1st place so you cant moan to much about the bad parts. So just sit back and watch a cool film with great big robots in it.

I remember this movie from when i was 12, it was amazing.. i remember it to the day not like most thing i watched back then, i have even tried to buy it but its like rocking horse sh*t! Anyway, the acting is a bit chewy but the story is amazing considering it was a real B movie with a low budget and event the fighting scenes were amazing to watch, i must have watched it about 20 times. It was a very well made movie and i loved the idea of fighting giant man controlled robots, pity they had to spoil it by making a crappy spin off "Crash and Burn", don't watch that movie by the way it is total pants! If your a real Sci-Fi movie fan then watch this, if it was re-made today it would be a winner.. i really would love to see a remake or even release the DVD of it.

While this movie in no way could be compared to the greats like Godfather or Star Wars, keep in mind that it had very little money. Stuart Gordon does a spectacular job of trying to maintain a big-budget realism with a very small budget. Not only does he do that, but he also makes a fairly entertaining film as well. I saw this one a long time ago, and have since bought the tape. It really is a true guilty pleasure. While this is not as good as Stuart Gordon's other movies such as Re-Animator, it does beat out the awful Castle Freak. While many say that this is possibly the worst ever, they have obviously never seen a really bad film before. The plot, which is actually fairly original, focuses on a "Robot Jock (Jox)" that is torn between retiring or continuing to fight for his country in a giant man made robot with specially made weapons to against the interesting, although cliched, Alexander. Add in genetically engineered fighters, and you have yourself one heck of a final fight royal. The music score, done by some no name composer I have never heard of is actually quite good. I was very very impressed. The score really cought the mood of the action to me. Overall, it's worth a rental, and if you like it, buy it on tape. I love it, but can see why others would call it average fair. But considering the budget and the company (It was made by the same guys who made Full Moon Studios) it scores pretty high on the zombie meter- 3 1/2 out of five

This is the best movie in human creation. From the millisecond the movie began to when it ended, I could not stop urinating my pants. The movie was simply incredible. Don't try eating Milk Duds while watching it, you will choke on them. Sure, I jacked up my trousers, but it was worth it for this fine film. I couldn't take my eyes off the movie screen, even when there was a car accident outside and the movie theater caught on fire and my eye was gauged out by a falling beam. I spilled my beverage all over the ground, but I didn't care. The movie was too good. Even the guy that couldn't speak English sitting next to me enjoyed it. He kept yelling "ME GUSTA EL ROBOT JOX!" It is obvious that the film is an international masterpiece. We should all appreciate Stuart Gordon for creating this masterpiece. He should have won a Nobel Peace prize for this marvel of robotdom. Oh man, I have to change my underwear every time I think about Mr. Gordon. He makes me proud. His vision of robot battle was something I will never forget. And don't forget: NO GUTS, NO GALAXY! THE RULES OF THE ROBOT JOX. VIVA LOS ROBOTS DE JOX!

It's not Stuart Gordons best movie but it's still an absolutely fantastic movie. Terribly bad acting. Weirdly placed music. A script that would of killed itself if it was sentient. All adds up to one of the best movies of the time. I've often wondered if Ray Harryhausen ever saw this because it's probably one of the last best movies to feature stop motion.

The movie is fair, but it does have a unique fight scene. This is the only time I have seen a petite black woman start the kick, then an approximately 6 foot tall blonde white stunt man do the kick, and then the black woman ends the kick. This occurs in a fight scene in Gary Graham's bedroom. It truly is worth watching, I have to try and get it on DVD.

This movie i've loved since i was young! Its excellent. Although, it may be a bit much for the average movie watcher if one can't interpret certain subtleties in the film (for example, our hero's name is Achilles, and in the final battle between him and Alexander he's shot in the heel with a rocket, just as Achilles in mythology was shot in his heel). That's a just a little fact that is kind of amusing! Anyway, great movie, good story, it'd be neat to see it redone with today's special effects! Oddly enough, Gary Graham had average success, starring in the T.V. show Alien Nation. This movie is a fun watch and should be more appreciated!

This was a great movie. There wasn't one minute this movie was on when I wasn't laughing. This movie wasn't supposed to be a comedy, but that's what it ended up being. The one liner's, particularly the one where the Russian says "This time next week, I kill you dead", and just the crappy effects were enough to make this movie great. My favorite part of this movie is when the giant chainsaw comes out of one of the robot's crotch. I mean, come on. How can they be serious. And then you have the fat cowboy who is exactly like Joe Don Baker killing Chinese people. It's great. If you've never laughed at anything, rent this movie, or if possible buy it. Please.

Think a darker version of one of those kid shows such as "Power Rangers" and you have this film from 1990, "Robot Jox". A movie where you fight with giant robots, two men enter the arena and whoever comes out their country wins. The robots are huge and look like slightly better versions of the ones from said shows mainly because they are less colorful so while this movie is not good, it isn't all bad to watch. There are as I recall two robot fights in this one, one that ends badly and the final showdown. There is a plot twist part way through as a traitor is revealed, but in the end the plot is nothing that is going to stick with you for any amount of time after the picture is done. The fights themselves look like giant toys on the rampage, but still somewhat fun to watch. This movie would also spawn a couple of other films with similar plot devices such as the giant robots and the tournament. So it is worth checking out once, but probably not more than that.
