The youngest son's attitude made it difficult to watch. The fact that three generations owned this house and is still in debt makes me wonder if this is really a based on a real life movie. However it shows you how important it is to have your sons learn to work early in life and financial planning. Acting is good and the story line is good.

Apple Mortgage Cake is a sweet straightforward story about a family with a strong matriarch overcoming adversity. I wish there were more movies made like this that are compelling yet also safe to watch with your family. It's an 8/10 for the heartwarming family story category.

Granted most people don't seem to enjoy movies like this, however, I do and Apple Mortgage Cake is heart warming and entertaining. While not familiar with all the actors in it, the acting was fine! The story of a woman seeking success to keep a roof over her family's head is one so true today. It is joyful and shows how folks can get together to help one another and not asking anything in return. All win. Simple theme but a wonderful message.

I really have to wonder about how IMDB comes up with their ratings as only 1 review was a five and other than that one the rest were all over 8, yet that becomes a 6 on IMDB??? A very well written and acting movie. Heartwarming with very likable characters. This film is so relevant today as the billionaires continue to rape the people of the planet into conditions similar to the lead character.

Not To Be Confused With, nor does it have anything to do with Apple Macintosh & the Steve Jobs story. It's a happy-go-lucky movie with a feel-good-factor that clearly defines the differences between need & want. Angela Logan had the support she needed. Everything else just slotted into place with perfect timing. When you partner-up with someone whose dream it is to help you complete your dream your outlook & productivity is greater - even Angela Logan's children supported her ideas & saw it as their job to be the best they can be for their mother. Problems arise when 'individualism' gets in the way. Angela Logan's children supported her ideas. From the movie we see that Angela Logan's children weren't in competition against her or with her & didn't feel ashamed of her ideas - ie: they didn't feel their mother or the world 'owes' them more love than what they already have or something better or special. The children didn't appear to in competition with each other - ie: sibling rivalry - neither did they seem to suffer from 'a disease of the times' - a 'neurotic malady' called 'syndrome' - ie: oldest child syndrome, middle child syndrome, youngest child syndrome, only child syndrome etc.

Wanting to watch something that wasn't heavy or portraying the ills of the world I came upon Apple Mortgage Cake. While the film does show some hardcore realities that people face, they're surmounted; the fact that it's a true story makes it inspiring. True, the film is somewhat formulaic, but the acting is fine and the script catchy enough to make it entertaining and fun to watch.

No hope. A tough place. A story so frequent... The cast are supurb. Excellent scrip and production!

The story, the cast and the entire movie were so wonderful! What a great movie to bring hope during the Christmas season!
