Watched this movie tonight for the first time since I was probably 10. Yes it's cheesy. Yes it's dated. But I enjoyed anyway possibly enjoyed it more than when I was a kid. My future children will be raised on cheesy 90's goodness and Angels in the Outfield will absolutely be in rotation.

I have been trying to find out what the song was during the second half of the trailer for the movie. I cant seem to figure out what song it is. I don't even know if it was in the movie itself but I remember that it was in the trailer for it and if anyone knows could they please post it for me. I thought the movie was good but I really enjoy movie soundtracks for some reason. Sometimes the soundtrack is better than the movie itself. Some examples I would recommend would be Transformers, Remember the Titans, and The Faculty just to name a few. If anyone knows the song in the second half of the preview for Angels in the Outfield I would really appreciate it if they post the title. Thank you.

No manager would leave him on base loaded in the ninth at 150 pitches.

A fun movie that the whole family can enjoy. Pay no attention to the so called critics. Watch this one for yourself with your children and this old fashion family film.

I grew up with this movie. I remember loving it as a kid, and, watching it now in 2020, it 100% holds up.
Granted, I caught onto a few things little me totally missed out on, but how can you resist J.P. saying "it could happen" and always believing the best in every situation.
If you haven't had the pleasure, give it a chance. Sure, in this day and age the graphics might be a little dated and Angels helping the Angels might be a little cheesy, but every one needs a good cheesy feel good film every now and then. I dare you to watch this on a bad day and come away feeling negative. It's not possible. 10/10 would recommend.

You know, this movie isn't that great, but, I mean, c'mon, it's about angels helping a baseball team. I find the plot line to be hilarious anyways, this kid's dad says he'll take him back if the angels win the pennant (because he knows they won't) Kid prays to his fake god to help the angels win, god helps the whole time (via the angel Christopher Lloyd, RIP) And in the end, his dad doesn't take him back and rides off on his motorcycle right in that kids face. it's hilarious until Danny Glover adopts it and it's friend.
I guess the upside is that the old lady is left alone to die with her stitchin' projects and her stories. The real winner here, though, is god. Because later he got a job as a writer for numerous prank shows.
As a kids movie, it gets a 7. As a movie about the mysteries of blind, stupid faith, and the nature of "god," it gets a 10.

I'm biased because I can relate to Roger. I was in foster homes and prayed plenty of times for God to let my dad get me back. Well it didn't happen and Roger would understand my feelings on that. It has to be one of the few movies that I could relate to when I was younger and even now it moves me.
That said this is one of the best movies ever. It deals with big issues such as foster care(obviously), religion and business. These topics aren't exactly light or exciting but they come together in this movie to create an unforgettable story. It's a story of pain, hope, and growth. It isn't exactly always a happy movie but its not necessarily sad either.

It takes a lot for me to like a movie, especially one for so long. My mom gave me this movie for my 8th birthday and today, more that 7 years later its still one of my very favorites. Which just shows the broad range of people can enjoy this movie. It's one of my mom's faves and one of the faves of my 14,9, and 3 year old brothers. With the many people that watch and enjoy this movie, it makes it a perfect movie for the whole family.
