When you pick a movie , you are taking your chances these days. The B movies are the worst. Made cheap, slow moving and wishing these movie makers would get a ticket for producing this crap! The idea for the movie is great. The movie is amateurish and slow. The mom seems to be casted so badly. She doesn't even look closely related to the kids. The lady that played the doctor, should've been the mom. The kids and fathers acting was tolerable. You can kinda tell that the kid is loosing time. Abduction kind a stuff. Casting sucked, actors boring. I guess anybody can make a movie these days. Skip it if you can.

Why did I watch this? The only decent acting in the movie was the kid. This is a typical alien abduction movie, except in this one there is no action, no mystery, no nothing. Why do people even bother making these low budget movies? Why not pool the money and hire a real production company, real actors, a real story, and plot, and put something out that is not this, and many others like it.

Just the kid & the storyline the rest you can scratch. I'm not saying the kid is a great actor, but he did 10 thousand % better than every other person in the movie. The acting was horrendous. I don't care that it's a no budget movie. I'm okay with that. I actually appreciate independent film makers using their iPhones. I respect that. It's art. If it's good. But at least act like you wanted to do it. I hope some Hollywood type picks the story up and does it some justice. It has some potential.

Today I logged on to IMDb - driven by an unstoppable force, set in motion by watching this film. As I endured the continuous onslaught of scenes that 'Alternate Ground' provides - I felt truly challenged to imagine a more horrifying mixture of desultory acting and zealless camera-work. What made it a truly exceptional experience for me, was actually coming here to write the above, and seeing this title has in fact won 13 awards. This film fully opened my eyes to the exciting new depths the bar has apparently been lowered. So thrilled to see what the future still holds! (How I wish the Mayans had been right about 2012...)

I got through it, despite a bucket full of flaws. A low budget indie, that with a bigger budget and nice confidence from the director, a good take on the abduction genre would come to the surface. There is something worthwhile here, don't forsake it for seeing movies as Marvel blockbusters.

This was a disturbing take on a missing boy who returns home exhibiting problems from the ptsd from whatever happened to him while gone. It is worth a watch.

This movie is decent if you keep a couple things in mind. I enjoyed this movie for its plot. Being big on alien abduction I recognized a lot of what was going on to the kid so that part is accurate. But I think the problem with this movie is not the movie itself but the circumstance it fell into. This is obviously a low budget indie, not from Hollywood and I think that's what's hurting it. Unfortunately I think we became spoiled with Marvel and Netflix quality that indie movies like this will suffer. Sure there are technical mistakes but it's not easy making a movie of this level. Watch this with an open mind and you'll realize that this is what movies used to be like.

I literally just created an account to post my first ever movie review on IMDB to say... or well, ask... is this movie supposed to be a joke? Or a middle school project? I've never seen such horrific acting aside from the kid who plays Riley. Painful to watch. Avoid at all costs! I want to sue for the one hour and thirty two minutes of my life I lost thanks to this atrocity.

Horrifyingly BAD, student film, or made for Lifetime movie. Yes it is that bad. Contains horrible story, horrible acting, really no effects worth mentioning. It's just bad. But, I made it to the end so it gets a 2/10.
