The film is extremely similar to the 2002 actioner Hero, in terms of both production design and action choreography. However, this time the casting is a disaster and the actors are much worse. Anyway, Jet Li and Donnie Yen are just unparalleled.

Just wow. While Shadow is a foreign film with subtitles, the storyline with its twists and turns and whoa, that ending, made it worth the trouble. Some spectacular acting and wildly choreographed battle scenes make this a keeper. We bought the DVD.

Beautifully filmed with the mood of the film in mind for the entire 2 hours. Violent and beautiful simultaneously. The lack of color and cinematography works! Subtitles throughout. Not a problem. You will be mesmerized from frame one. Great fight scenes. Great story with deep emotion throughout. Highly recommended.

For many of our Chinese audiences, the power and courage to make "To live" go beyond Americans' imagination. He was even banned three years for that. Everytime he dared to make a move away from certain rules, he would make a breakthrough, whether it was recognized instantly or not. Whether the actings or the designs are superb, and the twisted ending may look somewhat odd at first, but the clues hidden in the front part of the movie will come back to remind you that it had been set up. Almost flawless in suspense, and a triumph in the aspect of philosophy and humanity.

This is a bizarre read of spinning umbrellas. And apparently being dizzy is make-believe. For a sickly commander he moves well when it is convenient. Obviously he's not in the box but behind you? Cackling is a sure sign of madness. Well, the last 45 minutes is making up for most of the first 1:15. Good end.
