Scifi CGI Disney movie way ahead of it´s time, but with clumsy dialogue and at times bad character animation. Classic alien abduction done by Disney is not about the princesses you love, and not for everyone.

at several points in the film I forgot the characters were 3d animated as I watched, unlike previous "realistic" animated movies like Beowulf or Polar express I thought the characters were not intrusive or creepy, actually Gribble was very expressive and likable and Joan Cusack looked like Joan Cusack This is a movie for kids? i rented this because I like 3d animation and as a grown man I didn't mind a darker story line ,details of a heartless matriarchal society, firing squads, your mom getting exploded at sunrise - I can get behind a little dark stuff in a kids movie (like Bambi's mother) but this just seemed gratuitous. maybe they should have just gone full tilt and made an aniamtion for adults like Beowulf or Avatar

This movie is one of Disney's more overlooked films. In context, i have seen this movie like 12 times and it's still magical in it's own element! This movies CGI animation was bright and crisp. This movie was stunning by the amazing visual effects and storyline make this movie a way to enjoy family night without going to buy a movie off Pay per view! It can actually be found pretty much anywhere! If you know anything about this movie. It can to be in FOUR words... FANTASTIC, HEARTFELT, SENSORY AND STUNNING!

I would say that Mars Needs Moms is now the worst movie ever from 2011 rather Cars 2, i don't hate Cars 2 despite being the most weakest film from Pixar if you want to watch better movies go watch Kung Fu Panda 2 and Puss In Boots they are better movies rather than this junk so now Mars Needs Moms is now the second worst Disney movie next to other unnecesary sequels from Disneytoon Studios except for Ducktales Treasure Of The Lost Lamp, A Goofy Movie, The Tigger Movie, Piglet's Big Movie, Planes, Planes Fire And Rescue, etc. And i think the third worst Disney movie ever Strange Magic also known as the worst movie ever from 2015 and so this concludes my review on the worst Disney movie ever, this movie is also on Disney+,i am not watching this movie or else it would be wasting my time.

Oh, no, it doesn't end at the crappy animation. The story is ridiculous, the world is cheap, the whole thing feels like a fever dream.

Review from the MOM: OK -- so I gave it an excellent review for reasons that may differ from other reviewers. First off, I'm a Mom and this movie was cute in that it was about moms and their motherly qualities. My husband, being the dad, also liked it as it kept our interest, as well as our children ages 3 and 8. I'm also a huge Joan Cusack fan as she adds character to... well... her character. If you're looking for an entertaining story, (though it may not be Shrek animation, or even humor as some of the scenes made me cry) then this movie is it. Get it from your local library and write your review, especially if you're a mom with an active 11-year-old. :) This movie was NOT that bad!

This is so much worse than any other Disney movie ever made. You think one, and it's a million times better than this crap. So here's the problems with it: The motion capture looks HIDEOUS! Not just on the aliens, but every single character in this looks like a bunch of monkeys in human form. And it's hard to look at for me. The main character Milo is a hateful jerk especially to his mom. He keeps aggravating her and upsets her when he says his life would be so much better without a mom. This little crap deserves to be in prison. That's how bad he is. The story isn't better at all. Aliens kidnap Milo's mom for whatever reason I don't remember exactly. It's probably not even interesting to begin with. I also didn't laugh once in this. Not once! If this movie actually tried being funny, well they failed miserably since nothing made me crack a smile. No wonder this bombed at the box office, this movie is so atrocious, I rather watch any other movie than this.

This movie interested me once I saw the trailer for it. And Joan Cusack is one of my favorite actresses, so I decided to see. This film was a big box office flop, and the ratings were just so so for those who did see it. I appreciate the effort, I could tell they tried. It's just that with this animated flick, the substance just wasn't there. There wasn't anything exciting or interesting about this movie. The dialogue was dull, the plot was lackluster, the animation was just alright at best. Now Joan Cusack did do a really good job with her voice acting the mom. I liked her in that role. Unfortunately that was just about it, I appreciate Disney trying, but this one just didn't cut it. 4/10 for Mars needs moms

I genuinely enjoyed 'Mars Needs Moms'. I like the story it portrays, sure it's nothing extraordinarily great or anything but I feel it hits the intended spots due to the hearty narrative with the main character and his mother. I'd argue the voice cast do good work, principally Dan Fogler as Gribble. Seth Green (Milo), Elisabeth Harnois (Ki) and Joan Cusack (Mom) are all fine too. The sci-fi parts are undercooked certainly, but I feel what's there works well enough for Milo's side of the story. The end few scenes are meaningful, I did care for the characters what can I say. Animation-wise I liked it as well, especially for the humans. It does look a tad weird, granted. Personally, I rate it.
