Supplementary and vertical angles explained. We look at a variety of "angle puzzles", or problems with an unknown angle, and solve those using these basic principles. I also write an equation for each problem, to help students learn to both write and solve equations, since this lesson belongs to my pre-algebra course. (See )

The first problem involves finding the volume of a house. We do that in two parts: the bottom part is a rectangular prism, and the top part is a triangular prism. The second problem has to do with finding the volume of water in a pool. Find more 7th grade math videos at Math Mammoth Grade 7 curriculum:

The volume of both prisms and cylinders is calculated with the same formula: The volume is the area of the base times its height. In this video, we calculate first the volume of a right triangular prism, and then the volume of a cylinder. Find more 7th grade math videos at Math Mammoth Grade 7 curriculum:

How much paint do you need to cover this water tank if 1 gallon of paint covers 300 square feet? We need to calculate the surface area of the cylindrical water tank (excluding the bottom) and then figure out how much paint is needed. To find the surface area of a solid, we add the areas of the individual faces of the solid. In this video, we calculate the surface area of a tetrahedron and of a right prism that has a parallelogram as a base. Find more videos for 7th grade math: Math Mammoth Grade 7 curriculum:
