Directed and co-written by Kerry Bellessa. A runtime of one hour and thirty minutes. Available to rent or buy on Prime Video. With a PG-13 rating.
"Jaq," played by Hayden Panettiere, is just leaving work. She's running a little behind, which caused her to miss her Uber. Just by chance, "Shane," played by Tyler James Williams, is dropping someone off.
Not trying to get more behind, "Jaq" frantically gets into "Shane's" car, pleading with him to take her to her location. With plans himself, "Shane" decides to take her.
While this is going on, "Monica," played by Katie McClellan, is hanging with her mom, "Gail," played by Claire Slemmer, and playing hide & seek with her daughter, "Charlotte," played by Ducky Cash(what an interesting name). While simply getting some family time in, "Charlotte" is abducted by "Aaron," played by Kurt Oberhaus.
This prompts "Monica" to plead with 911 operator "Cici," played by Saidah Arrika Ekulona, and "Sgt. Phil Casey," played by Kevin Dunn, to put out an amber alert.
While driving, "Shane" and "Jaq" spot a car with a similar description of the amber alert. This sends these two strangers on a wild goose chase through Louisville, Kentucky following the suspected car.
"Amber Alert" was as thrilling as the trailer. Hayden Panettiere and Tyler James Williams were the odd pairings you never thought you needed. At face value, you would look at these two sideways, but they meshed well.
I loved Tyler's acting style. The certain faces and comments he gave Hayden's character were hilarious. It was subtle, but if you know, you know.
I also thought it was cool that they filmed this in Louisville, Kentucky. Louisville is becoming a lowkey hotspot for filming. They get a tax credit, so more and more films are filmed there. My daughter even acted in a couple of minor roles shot there.
This film was fun to watch. I was engaged the entire film. You know when your yelling at the TV, you're fully sucked into whatever is going on. The ending had a couple of eye-raising scenes. There were also a couple of minor details that didn't quite fit. But it didn't take away from the overall experience it gave you. I give this film four mor fires 🔥🔥🔥🔥.
SB(sidebar) The real Amber alert was created due to a pair of parents losing their daughter Amber to a gruesome death after being abducted. After the creation of this popular alert that scares the crap out of you when it goes off. Has saved countless lives.
