تنتقل (لوسي) وشقيقها (إدموند) إلى عالم (نارنيا) الساحر بصحبة ابن عمهما (إيوستاس)، هذه المرة يتم الانتقال عن طريق لوحة جدارية لسفينة عظيمة تمخر عباب البحر. يفاجأ الأبطال أن الماء يندفع من اللوحة ويغرق الغرفة، وحين تمتلئ عن آخرها يكتشف الأبطال الثلاثة أنهم انتقلوا إلى عالم نارنيا، فى وسط المحيط.
ومن بعيد تبدأ فى الاقتراب إليهم سفينة ملكية ضخمة يكتشفون أنها سفينة الأمير كاسبيان التى يجوب بها بحار نارنيا. وعندما يصعد الثلاثة إلى ظهر السفينة يقابلون كل أصدقائهم من الحيوانات الطيبة التى خاضوا الحروب معهافي الجزء السابق. وفى خلال رحلتهم يقابلون تنانين عملاقة، وأقزاما، ووحوشا أسطورية، ومحاربين غاضبين دومًا، إلى أن يصلوا إلى حافة العالم فى مغامرتهم الجديدة .
