I would love to see more mortal Kombat animated movies. Please keep making these. I would love to see more origin stories. We need sub zero movie as well. I want to see all these movies become connected to each other something like avengers movies. That we get origin movies of each character and at the end mortal kombat competition. I would love to see a female mortal kombat movie including kitana and other characters. I'm happy to see mortal kombat finally getting something than more just games. There is so much potential in mortal kombat universe it would be huge miss to waste it. Findlay got 600 characters thank you for reading.

Having watched the previous two film in this Mortal Kombat Legends trilogy, Snow Blind feels quite different. There are different characters and the graphic animations here is vastly more gruesome, violent and brutal. Right from the opening scene, it sets the tone for the rest of the film. The story is a step up from the second film Battle of the Realms and overall more engaging throughout. The animation and color is just as good. There could have been more developed work for the characters. At times, there are confusing scenes as but in general this film seems more fitted for hardcore fans of the franchise.

Though trailers heavily implied that the main protagonist would be the blind swordsman, it turns out that they were quite misleading. Same can be said of the chief villain. If you were expecting to see the grand finale between Kenshi and Shang Tsung, you're in for the U-turn, as this is much more of a Sub-Zero's redemption arc than anything else. Set in the dystopian future, after the Battle of the Realms, Snow Blind tells the story of an unlikely alliance between young and arrogant fighting prodigy named Kenshi and seasoned warrior Kuai Liang, the former leader of the deadly Lin Kuei clan, who is haunted by his past and withholds the power that could shape the future. After the former is deprived of his eyesight, courtesy of Shang Tsung, Kuai Liang reluctantly accepts to train him in the new ways. The ways which would, via the use of the magical sword, allow the young man's other senses to develop to the point of replacing his sight and further improving his fighting abilities. After Kenshi is captured by the King Kano's gang, a pack of bloodthirsty wasteland pirates gathered around the cyborg, Kuai Liang is left with no choice but to forsake his self-imposed pacifist lifestyle in an attempt to free his protegee. With the aid of Scorpion, an immortal demonic entity, he once again assumes the identity of fearsome Sub-Zero and takes on the pirates utilizing his godlike freezing powers to their max. The gruesome final conflict takes place in the Kronika's sanctuary, now occupied by King Kano. It is revealed that Kano was manipulating time and the events in order to establish himself as the ruler supreme in the present. Sub-Zero is forced to push himself to the very brink to stop Kano's temporal menace once and for all. Though story lacks the scale of the previous entry, it is probably for the best. In this MK meets Mad Max sequel, we get a decent blend of old and new characters, but, since MKL continuity is not canon, there's a nice twist to them. If you are an MK fan, you may find this movie enjoyable. Otherwise, there's not much to write home about. Unnecessary blood and gore galore. Scorpion has to make a completely needless appearance, of course, otherwise Ed Boon would probably suffer a convulsive fit. Still, it manages to be the most original and somehow the overall best entry in the MK Legends series so far. Which, unfortunately, says a lot about the overall quality of this show.

Set decades after Liu Kang defeats Shao Kahn and Sjinnok, the Earthrealm has become a wasteland after revenants begin to lay waste to the realm. However, this has not stopped Kano, who has survived the events of Scorpion's Revenge and has become a cyborg, to form the Black Dragon and begin to take over the outposts. Kuai Liang, the second Sub-Zero, lives his life as an elderly farmer, and is attacked by three members of the Black Dragon, Kabal, Kira, and Kobra. However, trying to take over a new outpost for their own, the three are stopped by a boy named Kenshi Takahashi, who came to the town seeking a fight. After being nearly killed by Tremor, Kenshi is tricked by Shang Tsung, who serves under Kano, to release the souls of his ancestors to gain a sword, leaving the warrior blinded, he must help Kuai overcome a past event that has driven the Lin Kuei ninja to a solitary life to fight the Black Dragon and end King Kano's rule over the wasteland. Loosely based on Kenshi's backstory in Deadly Alliance, this movie decides to go a new direction, going for a post-apocalypse setting a la Mad Max, as Kano and the Black Dragon ride vehicles similar to that movie franchise. Other than Sub-Zero, Kano, and Shang Tsung, no other characters from the last two films appear (other than a statue of Liu Kang), as the story focuses on Kenshi and Sub-Zero battling against the Black Dragon, which contain fan favorites like Kano and Kabal to more obscure characters like Kobra, Kira, and even No Face (who was only seen in the lackluster Special Forces as a boss character). However, like Battle of the Realms, which had Li Mei and D'Vorah on Shao Kahn's side, this movie adds in other characters to fill the ranks of Kano's crew (two of the most notable being Ferra/Torr and Erron Black), which will confuse those who don't know Mortal Kombat Legends is separate from the games. As the characters go, they have been redesigned, with Kobra needing it the most (so people can stop calling him a Ken Masters rip-off), and Kano is rocking the cybernetic body and orange mohawk. However, this movie is not as good as the last two, as most of the plot is Sub-Zero playing Mr. Miyagi to a blind Kenshi, and while the movie retains the blood and gore, it seems to be there mainly for random moments, with only few moments where it mattered in the story. I think it's an okay movie, but the anti-apocalypse setting and the lackluster story weighs it down hard.

I'll start by saying I'm a fan of Sub-Zero (especially Kuai Liang) so giving him central focus obviously sways my preferential treatment of this movie. Additionally, I always enjoy his team up with the grandmaster of his rival clan so yeah this works for me. It's removed from the klassic Mortal Kombat storylines but we have (several) other movies about that so this one is a nice supplementary story to the franchise. Favorite part is when Kuai Liang teaches Kenshi about "...nothing more poisonous than 'I can't.'" The only thing I'm not sure is whether this connects fully to the previous installments "Scorpion's Revenge" and "Battle of the Realms". As a stand-alone it works thanks to MK11 timeline shenanigans. Best to take it as an individual offering.

Really enjoyable MK film to watch, been a fan of Kenshi for a long time that's why I bought this on Blu-ray. The pros that I like are the relation between Kenshi and Sub-Zero, Kenshi as a character, the post-apocolyptic setting and Kenshi's radar view, the cons is that it felt rushed in plot & character dev, the art style, and the final act was given to the mentor rather than Kenshi. Overall a fun but not so perfect film, definitely good enough although I consider this non-canon, they manage to bring Kenshi to film first time in the most cool way (though he seems to similar to his son, Takeda).

I sat down to watch the 2022 animated movie "Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind" with my son. And I have to admit that I was not familiar with all the characters in this storyline. But then again, I haven't been playing the games for a long, long time, so I don't keep up with who is in the franchise. I have seen the 2021 animated movie "Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms" and the 2020 animated movie "Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge" as well. And of these three, then this 2022 is the weakest addition to the "Mortal Kombat" franchise, simply because the storyline is all over the place, and there isn't really much to keep your attention to the various characters. So writer Jeremy Adams didn't exactly impress with the storyline here. Visually then "Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind" is good. You know what you get when you sit down to watch something like this; an abundance of fighting and over-the-top violence. And yeah "Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind" offers that as well, and that is one of this particular animated movies strongest aspects. But it is hardly enough to make it worthwhile watching. The art and animation style used in "Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind" is adequate. It does look and feel like it belongs in the "Mortal Kombat" franchise. The voice acting, since this is an animated movie, is adequate, though there wasn't a single familiar voice on the cast list, aside from David Wenham. I didn't recognize his voice though, and it was only when I perused the cast listing on IMDb that I realized it was him. "Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind" is something for the hardcore fans of the "Mortal Kombat" franchise, for sure. For a casual viewer, then this is adequate enough for a single viewing, then you forget about it and move on. My rating of "Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind" from director Rick Morales lands on a bland five out of ten stars.

This is coming from a true fan of the video game franchise created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. Reverse anagram Boon and Tobias to get the character Noob Saibot(I wonder why he hasn't been featured in any of the storylines so far in the franchise). The story seems to be inspired by the MK11 video game with characters introduced in MK Armageddon (for those who are not familiar with some of them). The plot has a very beautiful unusual concept of a Mad Max inspired dystopian future, the art style is very beautiful and stylish, voice acting is decent and of course there is the characteristic over-the-top gore. It's strongest point is the action which is fluid and contributes to the overall entertainment. Character development is good, even though it's focus is on the two main characters. Could have done with more details into Kenshi's training and development into the blind swordsman. It's lengthy but still not properly handled. That part of the plot was a bit all over the place. The movie's plot twist involving Kenshi's relationship with both Shang Tsung and sub zero threatens to affect it's faithfulness to the source material. Pretty decent action which is not lacking in entertainment value.

After watching the previous two Mortal Kombat movies I was sure to keep my expectations in check. Scorpions revenge was entertaining but focused too much on other characters besides Scorpion. Legends had some good moments and fell off the rails in a ridiculous final ten minutes. Snow Blind is thankfully better than legends but still not as "good" as Scorpions Revenge. Snow Blind takes place in a wasteland after earth realm was destroyed by the apocalypse which is briefly explained during the 3rd act. Without spoiling much old "Bruce Wayne" mentors Kenshi into realizing his potential after his ego gets his butt handed to him. The relationship between Kenshi and Batman is the best part of the movie, though it could have been better developed. Kano, while typically cheeky, is not that intimidating or interesting as the main villain. Most people are here for the fights and there are plenty. However none of the fights standout. It's a bunch of blood and gore that is satisying at times, but none of the fights get your heart rate up. The animation and fights seem as basic as Snow Blinds story and that is really a shame. The gore does deliver a few gruesome fatalities that are entertaining of course, but I really think the next movie needs to amp up the stakes and intensity in this department. Snow Blinds brisk pace is nice and the ending leaves a bit to be desired. If you're a mortal kombat fan like myself you'll mindlessly enjoy yourself for the 80 minutes Snow Blind runs. I would recommend a rental if you're interested.
